Questions of a lifetime

Manipur, a beautiful state in the north eastern region of India. My home and my birthplace. ever since I can remember its been under trouble and issues. The subject of which ranges from small to big. The biggest question is about the merger of the state to India. Well thats not I am worried about because the state cannot live on its own, even if it gets the so called freedom from India. Questions are many starting from how did it happen to what is wrong now. Anybody can raise a question but nobody seems to act. There are so many manipuris living outside the state or the country, everyone has an opinion about what is going on in Imphal or the state. Everyone will come up with a solution well some prefere not to comment but the ending of any conversation will end with "its useless and its not going to work".
The media seems to be not interested in the entire region of the north east unless its a sensational news. Everyday so many people die in the region but the news of it does not appear anywhere on the national level. Is Kashmir so important that if a minister says something about somebody that becomes a headline? Or is it because that the issue of kashmir is more important to India since it involves a country called Pakistan? well I cannot decide on that. But my experiences and feelings tells me that. You switch on to any news channel that beams in India, sit there for half hour and listen to the news thats being broadcasted. News without sensation does not get a chance to be aired. Pick up a national newspaper in the morning and try searching for some news about North East India. You wont get it. The frequency is 3 news in a week. For people like me who has access to the net 24/7 there is no worry about news from that side of the country. Personally I rely on foreign news website for news about North East India.
Kudos to all those people from the North East who are running news websites on their own and making sure that the world knows what is going on.
Manipur seems to be in chaos according to the news that I keep reading. Frequent strikes, bandhs, blokades etc seems to have become a part of the daily life over there. But whats the ground reality? I have no idea since I have not been home for suite some time. There are lot of people who constantly write about what going on,who is responsible and whats the solution so on and so forth. The most amazing part of this is that most of the writers who write these articles live outside the state. Ironically they seem to know the ground reality by living so far away from home. They all have solutions but there is only one question that I want to ask them. Will you give up whatever you are doing and go back home in order to bring a change in the present situation?
Yes opinions are welcome but opinion with solutions which has not been tried is not welcome for me. you are frustrated? fair enough, shout it out loud, but you are no expert to give solutions for issues that has been going on before you were even born. You have a solution, go try and then share that with the world.
Hmmm it seems to me I am also becoming one of them. So thats all for today. Bye Man
